Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4 Live Announcement Recap

This announcement trailer officially announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 4!

This year's Call of Duty is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 or rather `Black Ops IIII` as stylized by Activision. It has just been officially confirmed and announced through this unusual and very short video.

The rumors are now officially confirmed - Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is this year's Call of Duty title!

Specifically, the official live stream has revealed that the so-called Community Reveal event (where we should hear the first more detailed details about Black Ops 4) is scheduled for 05.17., a little less than a month before the E3 show where the game will surely be present.

It was also confirmed that the official logo of the game we saw on James Harden's cap a few days ago is genuine, and yes - they really went with 'IIII' instead of 'IV'. We can not believe it either.

The "Forget what you know" slogan appears in the promotional video at the end of the stream, and it immediately remindes us of Alex Mason from the first CoD: Black Ops, who throughout the first Cod:BO game tries to recall certain memories of his previous combat. Will the forth part have a direct link with Mason's tortures from the first part - it remains to be seen.

Perhaps the most interesting information coming from this short and unexpected announcement is the very date of the game's release - October 12, 2018. It was a month or so earlier than we would otherwise expect a new Call of Duty game, but since the other big long-awaited title - Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar - appears to be released in that time, Activision decided to hurry up with the announcement and the release of the new Call of Duty to enter the market a few days before the new Red Dead.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and it seems that the PC version will be linked to (Activision) by Blizzard's Battle.net. Recall, the first non-Blizzard game that swooped on Battle.net was the PC version of Destiny 2 last year and it seems that such a trend will continue.
